How expensive is this kind of thing?

Einstein was right, everything is relative! 

It might seem expensive compared to furniture that is mass produced or made in the third world, but if you decide to buy something from me, in twenty or so years time, when it’s still looking good and doing the job well, you’ll be thinking that was really good value, and I might be thinking I should have charged more for that!
